Digital Leaders

Digital technology is a significant part of our everyday lives. We use technology throughout the day for all jobs and purposes. Therefore, ensuring that all our pupils grow into responsible digital citizens who are able to use technology purposefully and safely is of upmost importance to us.

Our Digital Leaders are responsible for ensuring pupils in all classes recognise ways to keep safe when online. Digital Leaders work together to help educate their peers about online dangers, types of cyberbullying and ways to tackle unkind behaviour. They also help to organise technology throughout the school, ensuring devices are charged and locked away when they aren't being used.

Digital Leaders at Brimrod Primary

Digital Leaders meet regularly with Mrs Hindley. During these meetings they look at different aspects of online safety. Digital Leaders are then responsible for delivering the key messages from their meetings back to their peers.

November-December

Digital leaders meet during autumn term to talk about ways in which pupils can keep themselves safe whilst accessing material online and what they can do if they feel unsafe in any online situation. They achieve this through:

· Creating a Powerpoint to present back to their peers in class.

· Creating Online safety posters

· Monitoring classroom display

January-February

During these months we celebrate Safer Internet Day. Digital Leaders work together to look in greater detail at the current issues relating to Online safety.

March-May

Our digital leaders revisit Online safety through quizzes. They also receive their own training so that they can support teachers and their peers.
